DISTRICT CONVENTION
Joplin Missouri
August 1-4, 2013

JOPLIN HERE WE COME!
The 2013 MO-ARK Kiwanis District Convention is coming to Joplin, MO on August 1-4 at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Convention Center. This four day event, with general sessions and breakouts happening Friday and Saturday, will be an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of the past year, learn about the district’s plans for the next year, elect a new governor, and celebrate the ability of the people of Joplin to come together and take the tragedy of a tornado and turn it into a whirlwind of caring, compassion and rebirth.
We will check our progress on membership, the main topic of our Mid-Winter Convention, and see how we are doing in our quest to ELIMINATE maternal/neonatel tetanus, and have an opportunity to personally sponsor a young person so they can attend KEY LEADER.
For those of you in positions of leadership, there will be opportunities to learn about the new resources available to you, and for those wanting to assume a leadership role it’s your chance to have your questions answered.
The best part of the weekend is seeing old friends and making new ones, taking in a few of Joplin’s many attractions and joining in with people from all over the world it the International Route 66 Festival which is in town the same weekend. (BOOK YOUR ROOMS EARLY)
Pack your summer clothes, bring a camera, participate in the ELIMINATE walk (Saturday at 6:30 a.m.) and don’t forget an auction item for the Earl Collins silent auction.
An outline of the convention agenda will be available on line about June 15th and in the June Kiwanigram.
See you in Joplin,
The District Convention Committee
